Canopy Collective
Identity for an inter disciplinary collective
Canopy Collective grew out of shared motivations to bring about fresh transformations in the field of conservation in India - from bringing creativity and wellness to the centre of people-driven conservation efforts, to breaking institutional silos and hierarchies in systems by focusing on decentralised models of change.
The canopy collective logo is based on a natural phenomenon called crown shyness - is a feature observed in some tree species, in which the crowns of fully stocked trees do not touch each other, instead forming a canopy with channel-like gaps. It signifies adaptive collective behaviour that is beneficial for all - denoting how individuals from various disciplines can come together for a shared purpose.
The symbol also features the Brahmaputra river as the central spine in the form anchoring it to the region.
